He began his career as an author in the youth sector of Radio-Canada television , notably on the programs Le Grand Duc , CF-RCK and Les Enquêtes Jobidon. .

We owe Guy Fournier several successful series, broadcast from the 1970s to the 1990s on Quebec television, for example the comedy Skin of a Banana co-written with his son Christian Fournier, the children’s show La Boîte à surprises and the soap operas Ent’ Cadieux , Never two without you and its sequel, Les Héritiers Duval .

He also briefly hosted a trivia game called The War of the Sexes in the 1980s, along with his former spouse, Louise Deschâtelets.

From 1985 to 1987 , he helped launch Télévision Quatre-Saisons (since renamed ‘TQS’) which was to go on the air in 1986 .

He resigned from this position two years later when the Minister of Heritage at the time, Liza Frulla , appointed him Chairman of the Board of the Société Radio-Canada in February 2005.

He has also written several books including two books on cooking.
