Johnny was born on July 5, 1990 in Benin City, Edo State Nigeria to Christian parents of Mr. and Mrs. Ighodaro, a school principla and a clergy man. He grew up in Benin and is one of the four children in a family.

Johnny Drille began his music journey dated back to his early days in his local Church, as his father was a Pastor.

The single was a huge success and made Johnny Drille the favorite of lovers of alternative music in Nigeria.

In 2015, Johnny Drille did a cover of the song, Awww by Di’ja, which went viral, catching the attention of top music executive, Don Jazzy.
